I was just told by a certain website that they discontinued carrying parachute coconut oil because it contained mineral oil. Does anyone know if this is true? They said that it is bad for hair & skin. Thanks for the feedback in advance. :-)

Umm I dont think so parachute is made from copra. The only one I know that has mineral in it is parachute jasmine oil. Do you have the page saying parachute has mineral oil in it??

No I don't have the page and my parachute oil bottle doesn't say mineral oil is in it, but the website was called concealedjewel They have a lot of things like horetail gold hair food& horsetail haircare cream claiming that it helps hair to grow a lot faster but the shipping is really expensive since I live in the USA. Thanks.

I am sure there is no mineral oil in it. It smells and feels pure! :) That is the only coconut oil I would use.

I second that. It is the only coconut oil I use and for sure I know where it comes from and know how it is made:D

I m using parachute coconut oil since i was born , and just last week i got a 500ml bottle, and i would continue to use it , its 100% pure coconut oil which can also be used for cooking. Yesterday i applied it for 3 hrs and then washed with shampoo, my hair is shiny and soft.

It doesnt really hurt them it just seals them and coats the hairs. So moisture doesnt get in and makes hairs dry and brittle.

Yup, also it can be harder to wash out for some people, requiring stronger cleansing methods. Also i would think it's presence in an oil that you use to nourish as opposed to protect might interfere with the ability of other ingredients to do that.

This must be a new version of the Parachute coconut oil, which I remember (vaguely) seeing somewhere.

The original, which is probably used most in India - as far as pure coconut oil is concerned- is Parachute coconut oil, which is definitely without mineral oil, it freezes in cold weather and is used by many for cooking too! You can try asking for the one without mineral oil!

Did the one in the Cooking section also have one of the ingredients as mineral oil? If so, that is not good at all! :(

There is a Parachute Oil which says 100% pure coconut oil, that is the one I am talking about - that one is good.

I use Parachute coconut oil all the time. I'm sure it doesnt have mineral oil in it. I think if there's some product of theirs that has mineral oil in it, it would be some kind of mix that they've made that has their brand name on it - I doubt they would have intended to market it as just 'coconut oil', since their company already is respected as being the top supplier of PURE coconut oil and their reputation is associated with the "pureness" of the product. Here's a link about the company:

They have brands with mineral oil in them but you have to make sure you are getting the one in the cooking part not the hair part of the shops. The ones with mineral oil is the new formulas we use me and diamondbell and such use the old old fornula.
