I've had some really nice whole flower jasmine and chamomile tea sitting in my pantry for a few weeks (in an almost sealed container). I put about half of it in a tiny jar, poured in EVOO until it covered the tops of the flowers, and put the lid on.
I'm not planning on a deep treatment anytime soon, just light post wash oiling, but do you think I'll get any extra benefits from adding the flowers? Or do you think I'll be lucky to get a scent out of it?

I don't know if these two types of flower have some particulas caracteristic, but in general it is a good thing to put herbs into your oil and let it stay for about a month away from the light and the heat, because oil dissolves some components and becomes richer.
you can use chamomile oil for demake up, because it's very gentle.
I've done a henna oil with this process and it's great for give light and protect hairs without dye them.
now I'm going to do the same with cinnamon and grapeseed oil for massages on the scalp

I second the month suggestion. To make a herb infused oil it needs to sit quite a while, and then it supposed to get some of the properties of the herbs.
I did an herb infused EVOO the same exact way with rosemary, nettle and calendula, for the scalp (hair growth stimulation). I used some of it in my scalp oil blend with other oils and EOs.

Heidi, isn't EVOO too heavy for the scalp?do you use it for daily massage or just before washing your hair ?I wash my scalp about once in 12days/two weeks, so I want that my hair don't become oily with a massage at alternates nights

Lucky you, I can barely hold on for a week (my ends get terribly dry, my scalp is actually not that oily at all on day 7).
I used this oil alone in the beginning, applied one hour before wash. Now I incorporated it in an oil blend with other oils, so it's lighter. I apply it to the scalp on wash day, as soon as I can before washing, to get all the benefits from all the oils, EOs and herbs.

Sounds like a plan
It would interesting to see how it goes in term of greasiness of the scalp with daily scalp oilings.

I have infused herbs before. They suggest a dark container and letting it sit in the sun for a few hours a day for about a month. or you could take the oil and herbs and slowly simmer it for a few hours.

I did this with rooibos in jojoba oil. Nice for my hair, but redness-inducing on my face :-(

Thank you all for the responses :) I'll plan on leaving it in the jar for a while, hopefully the delicious smells I put in will come out again.

I up this thread for saying that EVOO for scalp massage is good even if I don't have to wash my hair, so I just made one infusion from two in my plan ;)
