View Full Version : Have any of you henna heads selectively applied a gloss?

I'm wondering about this because I have some old highlights that are growing out on my top canopy. I would like to deepen them up so they are more on par with how the front/top looks where my grays and natural hair are (having been henna/cassia'd).

So, has any of you selectively applied a gloss to certain area(s) in order to get a richer tone while avoiding the rest of your hair? It seems doable to me but I'd like to hear first, if there are any gotchas.

Thanks!

I have glossed my roots with a henna-cassia-conditioner mix. It's been a bit disappointing, though, because it seems to fade, and I'm going to try a henna-cassia-honey mix next. I think doing certain sections with a gloss should work out fine if the color turns out to be what you want. I would cover the sections I want and wrap in saran wrap (I've never done this myself, though). Good luck and please post before and after pics!

Yeah, I figured that a gloss on roots wouldn't really take hold so I did my regular mud treatment to the roots on Sunday (though I made it thicker this time so finally understand the need to use conditioner to get it all out).

I do use a henna/cassia/honey mix along w/chamomile for my mix and I get the coppery tone that you see in my avatar.

That's a good idea to wrap the other sections to keep them separate. I'll give that a go, if I do it and will post my results with pictures!
