Has anyone used the henna off this site?
http://www.halalco.com/henna.html

I have been getting the Jamilla from here http://www.mehandi.com/shop/personalstash/ and was wondering about the huge price difference.

Thanks!

Its pure henna its jamila from pakistan. I dont know about that site though. I once ordered from there and my henna came with a whole in the bag and it was everywhere. I was inhaling henna dust all day:cry: You can try it I just hope they do a better packaging for you:)

That brand of Jamila is pure and I've used it myself. The only other factor would be how it's stored, and how old it is, but it couldn't hurt to try!

You might read this post #21 (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=2963&highlight=halalco&page=3).

Jamila offers two different types of henna. Henna (in a foil bag inside the box) for mehandi and henna for hair (in a clear plastic bag inside the box). Mehandi.com sells henna for mehandi. Halalco sells henna for hair. That's why the price differs.

I bought Jamila and Afshan henna at Halalco. Both of them are fine sift, except one box of Afshan which had quite a few twigs mixed in. But other than this one box, all Afshan was fine. ( I think I bougt 7 or 8 Afshan boxes so far..) I just go to the store directly. Their henna seems to be always fresh.

As for color, I am not a good example since my hair is black and have never left henna in my hair more than 1.5hrs. But I can tell you that Afshan releases dye much faster than Jamila.

Aisha, I am sorry they did not pack your order well!

Yeah I was pretty upset half of a 200gr bag was only left to about 100 errr:mad: but the henna I had left was really great I got the rajasthani and had great dye release and no debri. Just remember that just because its from an indian or middle eastern shop doesnt mean there all bad;)

Oh no! You know, I don't recall seeing Rajasthani henna at the store itself. You bought Ayur Rajasthani Dark Brown?

Neither brown afshan... Maybe they were just out of stock then. Maybe I have not looked carefully.

I always see lots of Sudanese henna (crown brand). It's so cheap. Less than one dollar for 100g. I have never bought it. But I saw a picture of the exact same Sudanese henna on the e-book at mehandi.com introduced as henna next to Dulhan package. Also I read a long thread at HennaTribe forum and saw a picture of mehandi on someone's hand with Sudanese henna. It was rather dark brown. Oops. Sorry I got sidetracked.
