I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the craft thread but...

I'm working on a project that involves making hairfalls out of wool yarn. I want them to match my hair color as close as possible, so I was thinking I could dye some samples with henna to get it to match. The wool is starting off a cream-neutral color. My natural hair color is a medium brown. I might have to add some indigo or amla, but not really sure where to start. Any input, and has anyone done this before?

To be specific, I'm making dreadfalls by felting long strands of wool yarn together and tying them to elastics to fit over my real hair. Any information is appreciated, plus other suggestions that may work better. Thanks!

if you look on the hennaforhair site, there are a bunch of posts that show photos of experiments on wool with various ratios of henna, cassia and indigo. I think that would be a good place to start.
