View Full Version : Shampoo bars, hairtoys!
Chromis March 23rd, 2008, 06:07 PM I am interested in swapping or selling and can ship anywhere the Post Office does :)
First up, some PLH bars:

Shampoo bars are: Sage, sweetgrass, and cedar, chamomile citrus, and Peppermint & Tea Tree; plus I have the matching Peppermint & Tea Tree soap. $4 each Chamomile and the tea tree shampoo are taken!
Their soaps and shampoos just don't seem to like me, but I'd be happy to swap for their other products. That black gel soap of theirs btw is the most fabulous stuff ever for shaving!
Some CV bars:

Full size: Lavender Spice and Juniper Comfrey Mint, $5 each
Samples: Honey, Beer and Egg and Rhassoul Yogurt, $2 each Honey, beer, and egg is taken!
I am very open to swapping for others!
Hairtoys!

The Ficcare is a medium and is missing a chip off the end. Luckily since it is striped to start with it's not as noticeable when worn as it would have been otherwise! Too small for me now, so I'm thinking $30 in light of it's condition. $10 for the Tibetan silver slide and $5 for the others (sticks are pairs). I would also be happy to trade for other hairtoys in metal or wood. Wooden abalone topped sticks and quills are taken! Ficcare is taken!
freznow March 23rd, 2008, 07:21 PM PM'd ya :blossom: about the sticks.
ETA: I'm also interested in the honey sample size CV bar. Sorry, forgot to mention that in the PM.
Chromis March 23rd, 2008, 07:54 PM Here's some close-ups of the top of those sticks:

This shows the details really well, but the colour is more blue-green in real life. The tops are black pearl and abalone.

Here I flipped one of them around so you can see the other side and this shot is a little truer to colour as well.
freznow March 23rd, 2008, 07:56 PM Oooh those are pretty!
Neoma March 23rd, 2008, 08:31 PM Hi Chromis,
PM'ed you about the Sage, sweetgrass, and cedar and Peppermint & Tea Tree poo bars.
Chromis March 23rd, 2008, 08:49 PM I forgot in the original post that I also have a teatree shampoo bar from The Soap Lady of Oregon for sale as well, $4
For clarity, these bars have all been used at least twice, hence why they are marked down, even the PLH bars. I store my soaps in their original packaging.
wendyg March 28th, 2008, 06:22 PM What would you be willing to take in trade for the Ficcare?

Try me! I love non-plastic hairtoys and can always use new sticks or forks. If you have access to interesting herbs I like playing with those too.
chloeishere March 28th, 2008, 09:33 PM I'm interested in the PLH Chamomile and Citrus bar. I'll PM you!

I have no herbs other than the ones I cook with. Sorry. But I am awash in forks.

prosperina March 29th, 2008, 12:06 PM How heavy is the Tibetan slide? It looks pretty, and I've fairly thick hair, but if it's too heavy...Did it just not work for you?
aprilmay March 29th, 2008, 12:15 PM I am curious about trying shampoo bars. Do any shampoo bars work for you?

Forks are always in demand by me, they work really well in my hair :-)
I generally find the 5-6" length works well for me and I would indeed by interested in the one you described. I've yet to play with any of that material and it is quite interesting looking!

I think I'm just not very good at slides lol. The only thing I can use it for is to decorate the base of ponytails, but it's a bit too big for that. I can *almost* do a logroll with it, but I'm not coordinated enough to get the stick through the second hole on my own. I'm not sure on the weight but it feels just a bit heavier than a large Ficcare when I heft them both in each hand. It's too bad I didn't see this before I went to the Post Office or I'd have weighed it there too :-)
It can be very gently bent, but I'm afraid to ruin it! I think it would work great for someone with a bit thicker hair as a ponytail holder (with an elastic of some sort so it doesn't slide out), but it would be too small for updos with thick hair. Here's what it looks like in use on me:

I have awesome luck with most of Chagrin Valley's shampoo bars! Most of these ones I just didn't like the smell of because I'm a bit picky on that sort of thing. The minty bar for example is *really* minty to me, but I know for others that might be a good thing lol. I do not use liquid shampoo anymore and only use conditioner after henna and indigo'ing. There's lots of ways people use them though, the shampoo bar thread is chock for of info! Myself I lather twice (three if I've done a heavy oiling) and then pour an acv or citric acid rinse over my head to combat my hard water. My favourite bars are the marshmallow, nettle, and the cafe moreno bar so far.
wendyg March 29th, 2008, 04:07 PM OK - so you got my email but didn't reply to it? Could you, please, and I'll send you details of the fork.
