Yesterday - Figure of Eight (finally got it to work!)
Today - Braided Bun (I'm flying, so I can take it down when I'm on the plane for comfort, then put it up again once I arrive)

right now its down. I washed it about 2.5 hours ago, and its still wet.

once it dries I plan to put it in a rope braid since its supposed to get really humid and rainy again later today.

I googled but didn't find the answer so.... what is a belgian braid... being 1/2 belgian it sounds like something I should know :)

A Belgian braid is a mistake. I tried to do French braids, but they turned out Dutch until the top of my ear, then I flipped my hands and they were French from there back. So I called them Belgian braids.

Today I had my hair down, kept out of my eyes with the Mini Maxes. Right now I have an amorphous lump on top, inside the Buff. I'm going to sleep soon.

I don't know what the French call French braids, but I have an American pitcher. The pitcher with a lid that has a big hole in one side and several slats on the other is called an American pitcher (jarra americana) in Spanish.

Today I tried the cheaters 9 strander (make 3 braids, and braid those 3 together... so all together 9 strands :)).

It came out kinky and didn't look good so I folded it and put it up with a barrette.

Messy log roll (...I think) held with a flexi-8.

Another braided bun secured with Mei Fa sticks. In my defense I have a good variety of Mei Fas so I match them with my outfits. And sometimes I go hog wild and wear two different sticks! *gasp!*

I put it in a ponytail today and then braided it. It stays up really well that way. I just have to be careful not to use a hair band at the top too often or it will start to break the hairs. I've been wearing it braided more often lately to help keep it from tangling :)

I tried to do a 5 strand braid in the morning... no success.

Then I tried a 4 strand box braid... no success.

Then I did a normal 4 strand braid... it twisted so badly I had to unbraid it.

At this point my arms were aching and I was sweaty. I finally managed to do a basic english braid, except I had to leave a 10 inch tassel because I mixed the strands together and had to tie it.

Down and damp, because my shower has been broken for over a week and last time I washed it was in the bathtub. I don't think I rinsed it all that well, as I was trying Morocco Method ACV shampoo. My hair was very soft and nice, but MM seems to make it get dirty faster.
Anyway, DH fixed the shower today, so I took a shower after work and used some herbal shampoo and conditioner and my hair is all soft and shiny. Noice!!

Inspired by Kimberlily's siggy, I did a rope bun with two accent rope braids. I feel so pretty! It's funny that I always seem to do the nicest updos on Sundays when I don't have to leave the house. On weekdays when people can actually see me I mostly have a shaggy unraveled braid. :p

I actually managed Heidi braids today at work. I wasn't able to do these after I cut 6" off my hair because the ends barely met on top, but then I suddenly realized that I didn't have to wrap my braids all the way around my head - I could just turn them back up at the base!!

Looks awesome, if I do say so myself. One of my coworkers just asked me if I was going to a party after work!

That's how it begins, Sarah. One of us! One of us! Seriously, Flexi-8s are great, fairly inexpensive, and easy to use.

Today, an inside-out bun with my new (to me via swap board) copper slide.

It was up in a cinnabun held with two hair scroos, now it is up in a half bun held with a octpus clip

I've worn my hair in 3 different styles today. First I just had it down and didn't really do anything to it. Then I twisted it into a bun, clipped the end with a claw clippy thingy and weaved a hair stick through it. That came out, so I just gave it a tight upward twist and clipped it with the claw clippy thingy again. It's actually quite comfortable.

In a hairagami bun. I bought it yesterday and haven't quite got the hang of it yet but after fiddling with it for an hour i think i have something 'presentable' :eek:

Pigtails today! I just recently started wearing my hair in pigtails again (since like age 10?) and I am loving it! They stay neatly out of the way most of the time and my length still shows. I like this much better than a single braid in back.

Well considering it's midnight and I have not gone to bed yet...my today is for Thursday.
When I left the house my hair was still extremely wet so I left it down with a part in the middle and then a couple hours later when it was pretty dry I put it in a ponytail with another three hair ties down the length (wanting to avoid braid waves). Just now getting ready for bed I took them out - and ahh now I have crimps where the hair ties were (I guess I will deal with that tomorrow) - and now I have it in a loose scrunchie updo for bed.

Well, I experimented with my hair today thanks to this forum. I conditioned only with VO5, blotted lightly, combed lightly, and just left. And it turns out that I have tight tight curly hair when it's left to its own devices. Who woulda thought?

It is nice, but now I have triangle head with insane curls. This is not good!!

I have it clamped up in a bun with mini claw clips and a buff on part of it, slightly damp [to cool me down]. Tres sexy!

I haven't been here in solong and am simply giddy at all the different hairstyles mentioned here! I can't wait to read up on them and try new things!

Right now, mine's up in a bun (heck if I know which one: I pull my hair back, twist twist twist) held with a Bic pen. Everyone finds it funny I can do my hair with a pen LOL It's a summer day in Arizona, and this has become my staple hairdo when nobody is around. When people ARE around I take my hair down because I'm self-conscious of a scalp condition and this hump on my back/neck... :-(

I've done two french braids, one down either side of my part, and then wrapped the braids into a bun at my nape. It's surprisingly pretty!

I don't have a picture or a camera at the moment. But yes, I use little claw clips. Not the tiniest ones out there, those don't hold, but clips that are maybe 1,5 cm (0,6 inch) wide.

For me claw clips work with almost any kind of bun. For example the pretzel bun I wore today: I made the bun, pressed it against my head and attached 2 claw clips to each side and one on top. Claw clips hold very well, except maybe on cinnabun. The center part of cinnabun tends to flop out. Yesterday I had a chain bun with claw clips: again, I made the bun, held it against my head with my left hand and put a few claw clips on the sides of the bun with my right hand.

Right now it's in 8 braids from sleep last night. once we start on our trip downstate it will start coming down one braid at a time as I spend 5 hrs doing a S&D. Then it'll be going up in a protective do of some sort.
