Sure :)

Go to your CP (top of the page, "User CP"). Then in the left hand column, select "Edit signature".

You can then insert your links. Or you could type, for example, My old journal, highlight these words, then select the cain-link icon (on top of the panel, below the square smilie) and paste the link in the pop-up that opens.

Give a shout if it doesn't work :)

My main problem is I can't see the cain-link box, nor the square smilie either. I can't even see edit buttons on my posts.

I dont know what is up with LHC and me at the moment!

Loviatar - could the problem be the browser you're using? Try out a different one - firefox or IE, whichever you're not currently using.

I think Tiny Teesha has a similar problem - she can't see the upload button in her picture album.

I just tried IE (normally use Firefox) and pretty much every single picture came up as a white box with a red X in it.

Maybe the server is too far away from me in the little UK... sigh

Loviatar: Have you dumped your cache, temp folder? sometimes that silly IE and I know Firefox, will hold a page in temps until you dump and start over...then close the browser and try again...

then, try again, whilst sticking your tongue out to the left :pwhile clicking your heels together and repeat, "There's no place like Home. There's no place like Home. There's no place like HOME!"

if that doesn't do it, then give'r a :slap: and don't give up!

Wait - pictures? I thought you wanted to put links in your signature?

Now I'm confused

I do only want to put links in my signature. I mean every picture on the page - like everyone else's avatar, all the banners, etc. They all come up like little white boxes with red Xs.

Ah, now I see. Does this happen with LHC only, or also with every other website? I'm thinking there might be something amiss with your security settings then.

Just with LHC. (Wah! My computer doesnt want me to have long hair.)

Ha ha ha!
I didn't have the "Insert signature pic" on the page, so I cheated on that: I copied the URL of the image and pasted in my signature between (square bracket)sigpic(square bracket) and (square bracket)/sigpic(square bracket).
It worked.

Go to CP, Edit Signature,

Highlight your {sigpic} {sigpic} in the EDIT SIGNATURE Editor box, then hit the insert link button, paste any url in that popup field, you should see it being underlined at that point...

then SAVE SIGNATURE, your picture will then have a hyperlink to that page.

This is getting ridiculous...

I thought it was bad when I couldnt find the 'edit' or 'quote' buttons.

I can't even see the 'start new thread/new topic' button. Not on IE and not on Firefox either.

I have no idea what to do.

Here or in the archive? You won't see the buttons in the archive because it is locked to new posting. If it's here, let me know. :flower:

Hi, there is no "edit signature" option on my user CP page...

You need a minimum of 25 posts to have a signature: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=3066

Okay, I found a way to get the "Insert Signature Picture" hyperlink to show up. It was not showing up before when I was in "Edit Signature", even though my uploaded signature photo was within the size and dimensional requirements. The thing that worked for me was to go into "Edit Options" in my User Control Panel, and at the very bottom under "Miscellaneous Options" I changed my Message Editor Interface from the default option of "Basic Editor - A simple text box" to either of the other options (I chose "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing"), and PRESTO! I can now insert my siggie pic!

Oh, yeah! Thank you, Stacy E!! I did the same and there it is, my very first ever siggy pic!

Hi, goldenwaves. I don't see an image link in your post for the picture to show up. Ignore if you know this already, but pictures have to be hosted on the 'net somewhere like space your ISP gives you or Photobucket, Imageshack, or Tinypic. Then use:

Url of the pic to make it appear in your post.

Flaxen, (hit me with a lump of cheese if I am interfering here) goldenwaves raised this in another thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=124050&postcount=452) as well and I replied presuming that she meant a signature pic and referring her to the User Permissions - she doesn't yet have the 25 posts that will permit her to have one??

LOL, Tabitha, you're not interfering at all. :flowers: I wondered if she meant that, and figured if she did, she'd post again.
